Art & I had kids in two more school systems. Both were good as far as teachers were concerned, but the kids were bullies to Nate & some even to Abigail. With much prayer we got them through the junior high & high school yrs.
Prayer is involved in every area of our lives. We needed & still need a lot of wisdom to help him & we get that from our Lord, through our faith. Honestly neither Art nor I even talk with him without being in prayer. Prayer for us to understand what he is trying to say, prayer for wisdom on how to help, especially without getting upset. I have learned to do a lot of listening & keeping my mouth shut & just letting him talk. If he asks for my opinion, I ask if he really wants it, because most of the time he is not going to like it. I still work on this a lot, it takes a lot of effort.

- Hello, My name is Patricia Dean. I live in Ohio with my dear husband, Art & our college aged, daughter, Abigail. Abigail has a very busy life with school & church. Art & I love gardening & we all love to camp. We are also very active with our church family. Nate, our 26 yr old, whom this blog is mostly about, lives with his roommate in an apt about 10 min from us. Having him close in vicinity is important so that we can help when needed.

We all have to have the faith. In fact, in my opinion, from our experience, had we not had it, Nate would have a much harder time finding faith. We have had to learn to speak his language in all areas, including faith. In fact, one of the reasons, he left his biological father's house, was because he was pushed too hard, there. We gave him freedom & that lead to him asking questions. Nate has a growing faith. Art talks to him a lot about the Bible & Nate asks questions. Yep, his faith is growing. Patricia
